Blissful Cat Sanctuary

Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country

April 2015

I got Lexie when she was very tiny. She didn’t need to be bottle fed (phew!) but I fed her baby food instead. I would set the jar down and she would stick her whole face inside and come out an absolute mess! I raised her in my house for the first 4-6 months. I had other kittens I was raising at the time and they all got along and played like crazy. It was fun having them in the house. But then they all got too big and it was time to go outside. Lexie was fine for the first year to year and a half. She’s still very little and has beautiful markings, but she has become more aggressive and standoff-ish as she’s gotten older. I’m not sure why. She doesn’t like to share the food platter with anyone and swats at them and growls at them. At times she can be very sweet and will let you pet her for a little while. Maybe she needs more time indoors with people who will just focus on her. I’ve begun putting calming collars on her and that has made a big difference. If you sign up for a Virtual Adoption for Lexie, I will post older pictures of her when she was a kitten. They’re a kick.
